Our Story

In January 2021, founder, Cate Roberts, returned home after another unsuccessful shopping trip for her autistic son. Why was it so difficult to find sensory-friendly clothes?

Sitting on her living room floor looking at her purchases, Cate lamented that even after hours of shopping, she still hadn’t found any clothes her son would be comfortable wearing. But surely Cate’s family wasn’t alone.

Cate knew there had to be a better option for children living with tactile sensitivity. Then she had a bright idea. She could put her fashion knowledge and industry experience to good use.

With the help of a few good friends, Cate set out to create a sensory-friendly solution for other children like her son. Soon, Pheels was born!

Our fashionable designs are made using soft fabrics and flat seams with no tags or scratchy embellishments. Pheels clothing is made especially for sensory-sensitive and neurodiverse wearers.

Here at Pheels, we know life with a neurodiverse child can be challenging at times. But every child is perfect and special in their own way. We hope to make life a little easier for children on the spectrum and living with tactile sensitivities.
